Additive release: structured names, flat designation fields, a populated record lifecycle, and sparser records. ?schema_version=1 rolls forward to 1.2.0.

Structured names

properties.names[] is now served on every record: one entry per name as the sanctioning source publishes it, with a canonical type (primary, alias, weak_alias, original_script, non_latin, or other, a closed enum). fullName is always set; the part fields are null when the name is not decomposed (organization names, weak aliases, non-latin scripts, mononyms). Items are ordered by type rank (primary first), then alphabetically by fullName.

The legacy flat name fields keep serving the old combined name set unchanged.

Flat designation fields

Each sanctions[] item now carries its facts as plain fields, value-identical to the nested shape they replace: program, authority, authorityId, publicationRef (newly served: the reference of the legal act behind the designation, for example an EU Official Journal number), sourceUrl, listingDate, and description (the only array among them). A field is omitted when the source has no value.

Record lifecycle

The top-level status (declared since 1.0.0 but previously never populated for sanctions) now carries the record’s lifecycle: active on every record in the full dataset feed, delisted on entities the source has removed. A delisted entity resolves via single-entity lookup (GET /v1/sanctions/{id}) instead of returning 404.

Sparse serving

Empty fields are omitted everywhere: a field appears only when the source asserts a value, and the single-entity lookup now serves the same sparse shape as the full feed (previously it carried every declared field, null when unasserted). null still appears in declared nullable slots inside list items (names[].firstName, identifiers[].country, and so on). The always-present exceptions are properties.names, sanctions[], and the top-level status and caption (caption is null when the source provides no display name). Field order is fixed: the envelope’s scalar metadata first, then properties, then sanctions[]; inside properties, names, then identifiers, then the plain fields by specificity, with deprecated fields last.

Newly documented fields

website, email, phone, sector, legalForm, and incorporationDate were served before but undocumented; they are now part of the documented schema.

• Adds properties.identifiers[], a typed list of every identification number, each entry {type, value, country}, the same identifier model as pep_rca.
